If this is your first time visiting us in Burnaby for a Sunday morning service we want to say two things:

“WELCOME!”

“Allow us to tell you a little bit about what you might expect.”

We will make every effort to greet you when you arrive through the door. Please don’t hesitate to ask the person who greets you any questions that you may have. We also have children’s programs: Nursery is lovingly provided for children ages 0-2, as well as Sunday school for children ages 3-8. Our nursery rooms are located on the second floor. The Sunday school children begin the worship service with their parents and after either a short children’s message or a prayer they will leave the service to go their Sunday school classes–usually around 20 minutes into the service.

As you enter the main sanctuary one of our ushers will offer you one of our bulletins. Inside it you will find an order of service and various announcements related to our congregation. Please feel free to sit wherever you prefer. Wheelchair accessibility is also available.

Before the service begins we encourage you to allow the music to prepare your heart for worship.

Compared to a lot of worship services from different Christian traditions, our service has a “traditional” feel to it. No doubt our large pipe organ and wooden pews contribute to the traditional feel. We move through a planned order of service that includes elements like:

God Calls Us to Worship

God Renews Us in Christ

God Receives Our Prayers and Offerings

Children’s Message

God Speaks to Us In the Word

Sermon

God Sends Us with a Blessing to be a Blessing

Interspersed throughout the service are a variety of traditional and contemporary hymns and songs. We are a congregation that loves to sing, and sings well! A variety of instruments are used regularly or periodically in our service including: pipe organ, piano, drums, guitar, violin, flute, djambe, trumpet, as well as others.

Our pastors lead us though sermons that will often take us through a book of the Bible or through a topically arranged series dealing with various Biblical themes.  Each pastor brings their own unique personality to their preaching while striving to remain Biblically faithful, Christ-centered, and contextually relevant. We hope you will feel welcome. After the service you are invited to join us for coffee fellowship in the Meeting Hall.
