Dr. Michael Goheen
Mike has been part-time minister of preaching at New West since 2007. His ‘real job’ is in the academy. He teaches worldview studies at Trinity Western University and mission studies at Regent College, writes books, and travels to speak on various topics. Mike is married to Marnie, now for 33 years. He has four married children and four grandchildren. He enjoys taking an active role in the lives of his two granddaughters and two grandsons. Beyond spending time with his family (which is his favourite thing to do) Mike enjoys his daily exercise routine, watching many kinds of sports, especially football, and hiking on the trails of British Columbia.
“Even though I earn my paycheque from the university I have not been able to shake myself loose from the ministry of the Word. That is because I believe the gospel is the power of God to transform our lives, and nourish us for our various callings in the world to be, to do, and to speak good news. We have found a wonderful church home at New West CRC, and our faith has been nourished and our lives built up by the love and generosity of our brothers and sisters here. So we feel grateful to be able to use the gifts God has given to build up his people to manifest the life of Christ in the world.” Mike Goheen
