Weekly Devotions Guides

Weekly Devotions Guides

Jesus Christ taught us to pray and modeled a life of prayer. He regularly set aside time to be alone with His Father. Every disciple of Jesus follows the rhythms and patterns of Jesus. Having devotions–times of prayer, meditation on Scripture, reading the Scriptures, and the reflections of others are an important part in the daily routine of a disciple.

Each week Pastor Andrew writes devotion guides that include a brief devotion for each day of the week and suggestions for prayer. The devotions are designed to connect to the Sunday sermon that began the week. These guides encourage the congregation to soak in the text of the sermon and apply the Scriptures in their daily life. They can be used individually or with a family.

“A Season of Prayerful Discernment”

As our congregation began a ministry planning process in January 2010 we began it with concerted congregational prayer for a period of 40 days. Pastor Andrew wrote a 40-prayer guide which each household in our congregation was given and encouraged to use for individual and/or family devotions. We called the ministry planning process a season of prayerful discernment. When we complete our 40 days of prayer we held a round-table conversation to share how we sensed the Lord guiding us.  To view the 40-day prayer guide click here.
