A tangible display of God's renewing power

Honduras

Over the past 3 years, members of our church have traveled down to Honduras to participate in community development in rural villages. In partnership with the CRWRC and the DN, our congregation is working towards a long term partnership with the community of El Coyolar – Tilapa, in the district of Olancho. In this partnership we will work with the community and its members for the long term improvement of education, health, work, discipleship, leadership and beyond.

 

This past November a team of 11 adults from our congregation traveled to El Coyolar to get to know the community and work alongside them constructing  latrines, pilas (water basins), and concrete floors. As well, one member of the team led several workshops on nutrition and women’s health. Also, Pastor Andrew led three sessions of training in Biblical Preaching for 16 local pastors.

Earlier, in March 2011 a team of 8 from our congregation’s youth group, along with several leaders also visited El Coyolar. This was our first visit with the community. Here is a video of that trip:
